Do I need a referral?
No. Adults and families can contact ProActive Therapy directly. Referrals are also accepted from case managers, solicitors, insurers, employers, public bodies and healthcare professionals.
Who is the service for?
The current service focuses on adults aged 18 and over, particularly people with neurological, cognitive, functional or vocational difficulties. Every enquiry is screened individually. ProActive Therapy does not currently provide a routine paediatric service, hands-on musculoskeletal treatment or acupuncture.
Where are services delivered?
Home and community visits are available across Liverpool and Merseyside. Wider North-West travel may be agreed depending on the purpose of the assessment and current capacity. Online sessions are available where they are clinically appropriate. Appointments take place in homes, community settings or online where appropriate.
What happens during the initial discussion?
We clarify the main occupational difficulties, goals, location, funding route and proposed timescale. This is a screening discussion rather than a full assessment. Please provide only the minimum information needed at this stage.
What can an occupational therapy assessment involve?
An assessment may include an occupational history, discussion of priorities, observation of everyday activity, environmental review, agreed outcome measures and information from family or professionals where consent or appropriate authority is in place. The approach is tailored to the referral question.
How long are assessments and follow-up sessions?
Length varies according to the person, setting and purpose of the work. The likely duration and chargeable elements are explained before an appointment is confirmed. Complex assessments may require more than one visit and additional analysis or reporting time.
Can occupational therapy be provided online?
Yes, where remote delivery can answer the occupational question safely and effectively. Some functional, environmental or risk-related assessments require an in-person visit.
How are fees agreed?
Fees depend on the scope, location, assessment time, travel, liaison, analysis and reporting required. A written quotation and the applicable terms are provided before work begins. Additional work is not assumed and must be agreed.
Do you provide reports for employers, universities or legal matters?
Reports can be provided when their purpose, audience, questions and commercial terms are agreed in advance. A treating or rehabilitation report is different from independent expert evidence. Independent opinion is accepted only following a formal instruction, conflict check and confirmation of competence and timescale. Reports are provided within 10–14 working days from the initial assessment.
Do you work with case managers, solicitors and insurers?
Yes. Professional enquiries are screened for conflicts, scope, funding, consent, access, risk and secure information transfer before acceptance. Receipt of an enquiry does not reserve an assessment or report date.
What professional credentials can be verified?
Connor Harpur is an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist. Professional memberships include RCOT, WFOT, BABICM Registered Practitioner, VRA Individual Membership Plus and UKABIF Professional Member. Evidence can be supplied for due diligence when current and relevant.
What happens if I need to cancel?
The cancellation terms supplied when the service is agreed explain the required notice and any charge that may apply. Please contact ProActive Therapy as early as possible if an appointment needs to change.
How should clinical records be shared?
Do not upload or paste detailed health records into the public contact form or send them through ordinary email at the initial-enquiry stage. Once suitability and conflicts have been checked, an appropriate secure-transfer route will be agreed.
Is this an emergency or crisis service?
No. For urgent medical concerns contact NHS 111, your GP or 999 as appropriate. Mental-health crisis support should be accessed through the relevant NHS or emergency service.
Do you offer OT supervision or mentoring?
Yes. Online supervision, coaching and mentoring are available for occupational therapists and OT students, subject to a clear agreement about scope, confidentiality and professional responsibility.
